Old Colony Street Railway Company is formed.
1901
[1899-1901] The result of a consolidation of 16 street railway companies by the Lynn & Boston Railroad, it connects Boston to Norfolk and Bristol counties and extends as far south as Newport, Rhode Island. It is absorbed by the Boston & Northern in July 1911, is soon after renamed the Bay State Street Railway Company, and becomes the Eastern Street Railway Company in 1919.and soon after renamed the Bay State Street Railway Company.
